If you have ever read about a fat tire Philodo e-bike or looked into them, this bike is a lot like the others. It has big tires that can handle just about anything, front suspension that can be locked or altered to absorb rough roads, gears to allow you to still ride or extend range, a horn, and lights to extend riding conditions—all the normal good stuff. So what makes this stand out? Well, a few things, but mainly... power. We will chat about that.
Build Quality
Before we get into the good stuff, none of this matters if the bike is going to break down 10 miles down the road. And let's be honest, not every eBike is built for the long haul. So far, everything about this bike indicates it is meant to last. It is not loaded with cheap plastic parts, does not rattle, feels secure going down the road, has a thick strong frame, and every component feels high-end. Does not mean it is perfect and can handle everything, but it feels built to last and so far has not even had a hiccup for me.
The reason you look into the Philodo H8 electric bike is to have a little more power. When I first got it, I assumed it would be four times more powerful than my 500-watt eBikes. This was not the case. I point this out because it is important to understand the type of power. This does not throw you off the bike, you have to be careful. I would argue that "most" people could handle this bike rather easily. It is faster, no doubt. For those who want a little extra, it is fun. But, still manageable. But also good. Lower-power eBikes are great and probably more than enough for most people. But one thing I do not like about them is the traffic experience. Sometimes you need to move with traffic and when you are very slow to accelerate or not able to maintain the speed of traffic, it can be stressful as you know you are causing traffic to back up and also maybe not in the safest position yourself. With this Philodo electric bike, you can accelerate with ease to the speed you require and not cause any traffic problems. I like this because I do feel safer. But yes, it is also a lot more fun to ride around on if you like a little more thrill.
While purchasing from Philodo directly is often the best price, sometimes Amazon has a great deal and you can get it fast. Check out the Philodo H8 on Amazon by clicking here.
Big fat tires, heavy well-constructed bike, suspension this thing better be able to go anywhere, and it can. Let's start with the roads because it can be easy to look at a bike like this assuming it is not meant for smooth roads. Not true! It glides down the roads, and corners well, and has you always feeling in control. But it does not end there. I hit the trails, lose gravel, sandy soil, overgrown fields... you name it! Handled it like a champ. This is where bikes like this shine for me. The ability to go anywhere, with no limitations. Have a path that will include roads, beaches, and rougher trails? Who cares! You can do it. I also found that I liked locking the shock on roads, but unlocking it on trails so it absorbed some of the rough conditions. That worked well so overall, very pleased with why I give the Philodo electric bike review and where I can go.
Here are some items I found helpful to know during my testing.
Top Speed - 34.7 MPH - With a full battery it reaches this with ease. As the battery depletes, this number goes lower and lower.
Braking - I am very impressed with the braking on this bike. Going around 30 MPH and slamming the brakes, I was able to be completely stopped in around 3 seconds and a short distance.
Steep Hill Test - A good test of an eBike power and the experience it will provide is how it handles a steep incline. Going into it at full speed, I lost little speed which is much more enjoyable than bikes that must be pedaled or lose most speed. From a stop, it still managed the incline with ease. Power is not going to be a problem.
Battery Life - Full Throttle, top speed - around 20 miles. At first, this may not sound great, but this is pushing the bike to its max for 20 miles without any pedaling. Slowing down or assisting via pedaling with dramatically extend the range.

If there is one thing I would change, it is that they used torque sensors instead of a cadence sensor. I love the Philodo H8 eBike that works with you. I want to tell the bike how much it helps me so I can still put in some work and get exercise. I don't want to always be motored everywhere. With this bike, the PAS setting (1-5) tells the bike what speed to go. Once you start pedaling, it quickly gets you to that speed. You can still pedal with it, but only at that speed. Not the end of the world, but I do prefer the experience and exercise of a torque sensor experience.
There are a lot of amazing e-bikes out there. The trick is finding one that you will enjoy and that matches the riding style you are going to be doing. If you are looking for an eBike that can go just about anywhere, has the power to make it a little more fun, has the top speed to get places a little quicker, and seems to be of high build quality... this could be the match for you. The rear rack does make hauling stuff a little easier. Headlight and horn well. The throttle is very responsive and works great if you do not want to pedal. Overall, I have been extremely happy with this bike and try to get a ride in whenever I can find time.
