I have put a lot of miles on this eBike, and I LOVE IT, but it is essential to understand what this eBike is all about because it could be perfect or terrible for you. I will break down different categories and what stood out in this article. I will also help you identify whether this is the right e-bike for you. Let's break the Ride1Up Revv 1 electric bike down!

Before we get too far, it is essential to understand the difference between the two models available, the hardtail and full suspension. This is misleading because it sounds like suspension is the only difference, and this is not true. Differences include rear suspension, an improved output controller (25A vs 28A), and a larger battery (15ah vs 20ah). The suspension improvement is excellent and makes the bike feel connected to the road, smooths out the ride, and makes you want to cruise all day. BUT with a bike this nice, you want some range, and a little more power does not hurt. This is precisely what you get with the upgraded controller and larger battery. Go further and have more torque to get up and go. My honest Ride1Up Revv 1 review, spending more to get the entire suspension model, is worth it for this eBike.
Road Feel & Control—AMAZING! I could stop there. Ride1Up Revv1 is lower to the ground and has that fantastic suspension. This makes you feel connected to the road but in a smooth and controlled manner. You can take corners on this bike if you want to, and it doesn't feel top-heavy like other bikes. It is so much fun and makes you want to keep going. It is that enjoyable.
Power - I bought the upgraded model, which is not short on power. The video to the right is for the Philodo H8, which has 2,000 watts of power and is powered by dual motors. I have enjoyed an eBike, which is more of a typical eBike experience. But the Ride1Up Revv 1 at only 750 watts seems more powerful. It can easily reach that 36MPH top speed but, more importantly, get up and go quickly. This may seem insignificant, but when mixed with traffic, it is nice to have a bike that can quickly get through intersections, and this bike does.
Build Quality—I have tested a wide range of eBikes now. As soon as I hopped on this or heck, I started assembling it, and I knew it was different. Every part used is better. The screen quality, the seat, the brakes, the frame, and the suspension pick apart are high Quality. And it all comes together to offer a better experience and a bike that feels like it will last a very long time.
Brakes - Incredible. They can brake so hard but in such a smooth and controlled manner. This is important because this bike can hurry, and you need to be able to stop. Zero worries. You know this bike is built better the first time you hit the brakes.
Range - I made it 22 miles. Keep in mind this is the worst-case scenario. I am a heavier guy, going at top speed, so maximum power draw until it is done and not pedalling at all. If you pedal or, more importantly, slow down on this bike, this range will improve dramatically. But, if you want to hold it at 36 miles per hour and go somewhere around 22 miles, how far can you make it.
Features & Functionality—Considering this bike is less of a pedal-style eBike and more of a cruiser or eMoped, I love the features you get with this bike. The headlight works well and even lets you change the light with a switch on the handlebars. You also have turn signals, a horn, and a rear light. You feel like you will be seen on the road, and this adds to the overall safe and positive feel of the bike and the experience you get.
I love riding bikes, but all my e-bikes only have room for me, and I enjoy taking my kids on rides. They love it, and it is a great family activity. So when I got this, I ordered the passenger kit to go with it. This includes a handle behind the seat and a couple of footpegs. At first, I had my kids sitting behind me. This means they would hold on to me and use the footpegs. This worked great for them, but at 6'3", this meant I was jammed up way too close to the pedals and did not enjoy the experience at all. Shorter riders can make this work. In my case, I ended up having my kids sit in front of me. This means they get to pedal when I allow them to do so, which they love, and I use the foot pegs. They needed to listen and not grab the handlebars, but holding on to the centre bar worked great. In short, while I love this bike personally, I have greatly enjoyed taking rides with my kids. They beg to take the bike instead of the truck almost anytime we need to go somewhere!
Ride1Up Revv 1 is the best eBike I have ridden to this point. Everything is done better. The parts used are better. From the comfort to the control to the ease of use, the enjoyment of the ride whether you want to ride fast or cruise slowly, to the...to the....to the. I could keep going. This is a fantastic bike that I am so glad I get to use.
THINK ABOUT THIS. If you want a more typical bike or eBike experience, this will likely disappoint you. It is not comfortable to pedal. If you want a balance of assistance and exercise, this bike does not provide it. If you wish to extend your range because you are working with the bike, it is hard to do with consistency. I have made my point, but only get this bike if you want the feel, functionality, and exercise associated with pedalling.
If that is not what you are looking for and you want something to cruise around on, run errands, haul stuff around, or get around town on the cheap while enjoying the motorized experience. JUST GET IT!
